Introduction to Moc Chau
Moc Chau is a mountainous, plateau and border district, located in the southeast of Son La province, 180 km away from the northwest of Hanoi, with a natural area of 1,081.66 km2, accounting for 7.49% of the area of Son La province, ranking 8th out of 12 districts and cities of Son La province. Moc Chau district has National Highway 6, National Highway 37 and National Highway 43 passing through, sharing a border length of 40.6 km with Laos.
Moc Chau has all four distinct seasons, with the outstanding feature being a temperate and cool plateau climate all year round. The average temperature in a year is about 18-20ºC, the average rainfall in ayear is about 1,500 - 1,600 mm and the average air humidity is 85%.
Moc Chau Plateau has a large area with cool climate conditions. The ideal time to go to Moc Chau
Before and right after the Lunar New Year is the season of peach and plum blossoms.

Around March is the time when the Ban flower blooms, in addition, on March 26, there is a Het Cha Festival.
At the beginning of September, there is the Independence Day of the Mong people.

November is the time when canola flowers bloom in the hills.
December is the season of wild sunflowers, you will meet wild sunflowers right along Highway 6.

How to go to Moc Chau
Moc Chau is about 200km far from Hanoi and more than 100km from the center of Son La City, currently you can only move to Moc Chau by road. There are some long-distance bus routes from the provinces to Son La and will go through Moc Chau, but it is probably not as convenient as going to Hanoi first and then moving to Moc Chau. Most of the sleeper buses passing through Moc Chau will depart between 6 pm and 8 pm from My Dinh bus station and Yen Nghia bus station. You can arrange the train time, flight time to Hanoi reasonably depending on the schedule you want.

Thung Cuong Village (Thong Cuong)
Thung Cuong (Thong Cuong) is a Hmong village located between 2 communes Dong Sang of Moc Chau and Xuan Nha of Van Ho (A newly established district was separated from Moc Chau). On two sides of the road leading to Thung Cuong is the vast white cabbage valleys planted densely. This is also one of the favorite wedding photography spots of young people.

Pine forest in Ang village
Ang village's pine forest is a forest area in Dong Sang commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province with an extremely cool climate. The scenery here is very charming with Ang village lake as transparent as a mirror reflecting the four seasons of heaven and earth.

Lam Vien Tay Tien
Lam Vien Tay Tien, full name is the historical relic of the 52nd Tay Tien Regiment, built at Na Bo hill, Moc Chau town. The design of the Tay Tien Monument was inspired by the poem "Tay Tien" by poet Quang Dung - a soldier of the Tay Tien Regiment. Visiting and experiencing the restoration and embellishment of historical monuments and souvenirs of the 52nd Tay Tien Regiment, we will truly feel about the soldiers who share the same ideal of living "on the battlefield without regretting their lives" but also full of pomp and romance.

Dai Yem Waterfall
Dai Yem waterfall is also known as Nang waterfall or Ban Vat waterfall. This waterfall is located in Muong Sang commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province. Suoi Bang Ghost Cave
The reason for this name is that the system of 80 natural caves in Bang stream all contain wooden coffins of the Xa people, each row will have about 1-35 coffins. According to the researchers, the bones and skulls in the cave date from 300 to 500 years old, the wooden coffin is made of hollow chiseled tree trunks, which are located on the cliffs and cave floors.
To get to Suoi Bang Ma Cave, you have to cross a path with many roots and rotten leaves. The road from Moc Chau to Suoi Bang is very beautiful with immense tea hills in To Mua commune, overcoming steep slopes.

Five Caves in On village
This is one of the most famous scenic spots in Moc Chau with a spectacular cave complex. The system of 5 caves of Five Caves in On village, corresponds to the 5 arcs of the Five Elements theory: Kim - Moc - Thuy - Hoa - Tho, all of which have beautifully shaped stalactites that have been worn over thousands of years.
To get to Ngu Dong Ban On, you can travel in many different ways such as by car, motorbike or by motorbike. Just go to Moc Chau junction, turn right into the farm area, continue to move for another 7km, you will see the signboard to Five Caves in On village.

Moc Chau heart-shaping tea hill
Moc Chau heart-shaping Tea Hill is a symbol of love and full of vitality. The road to the heart tea hill is also very simple, you start from Moc Chau town, follow To Hieu road leading to Le Thanh Nghi street, pass the market at km 70 and then turn left onto provincial road 104, passing the People's Committee of Moc Chau farm town for another 4km, finally, you turn right for another 1km to arrive (same road as Five Caves in On village).

Na Ka plum valley
It can be said that Na Ka is one of the most beautiful plum valleys of Moc Chau, so someone compared this place in the spring to a fairyland. In the spring, standing on the top of the pass, visitors can freely zoom their eyes down to the beautiful, white beauty of plum flowers stretching across the vast valley, on craggy cliffs, or on the trees. Pha Luong mountain peak
With an altitude of more than 2000m, Pha Luong, also known as Bo Lung (means big mountain in Thai) is considered the roof of Moc Chau, located in the east of the district in Tan Xuan commune, Chieng Xuan in the Vietnam - Laos border area. On the top, there is nearly 10 hectares wide of flat land which is very suitable for camping activities or collective fun, however, due to the unsafe security situation (because this is the area where the objects are transporting drugs from Laos into Vietnam) so overnight camping activities are not allowed. Those of you who want to trek Pha Luong peak need to ask permission from the border guard station and have to have a local guide to guide you to avoid getting lost, your trip is also only allowed to go during the daytime, not overnight. Phieng Canh vilage
Phieng Canh is a small village of the Mong people (Tan Lap commune) which is very beautiful, simple and full of colors every flower season. Located on the same road to Heart-shaping Tea Hill, Na Kha plum valley, it is quite convenient if you go a little further to Phieng Canh.

Long Sap border gate
As a subsidiary border gate, Long Sap border gate is in Long Sap commune, Moc Chau, Son La that connects with Laos' friend country through Pa Hang border gate in Hua Phan province of Laos. This is also where the border landmark number 255 (Vietnam Laos landmark). If you want to visit the Lao market, you also need to go through the declaration station and do the procedures.

Lao market
Lao market is about 30 minutes walk from the Long Sap border gate. On holidays as well as on weekdays, this place is always crowded with people. From Vietnam, visitors just need to do a few simple procedures to be able to step through your land, visit and shop. The sellers at this market are mostly Lao people with typical traditional costumes. Along the main road through the market are stalls selling baked food. The aroma from the chicken and fish skewers makes everyone want to try the taste of Lao cuisine once.

Chieng Khoa Waterfall
Chieng Khoa Waterfall, also known as May Waterfall, is the name associated with the legend of the Ban Flower Festival - Xen Muong. The waterfall is as beautiful as a band of white clouds circling the deep valley, releasing white foam to create light mists that permeate the whole area.
Chieng Khoa Waterfall is located in Chieng Khoa commune, which is originally in Moc Chau district, about 30km from the district center in the direction of Van Yen ferry on Highway 43. Since the division of the district, Chieng Khoa belongs to Van Ho district.
